Requires Share3D On-Premise Editor Access

Share3D On-Premise includes basic file management features.

S3D Files

A primary purpose of Share3D On-Premise is to provide a platform for serving HTML with interactive 3D. S3D files are uploaded to the server. When they are clicked, then the S3D file is opened and displayed on the client computer using HTML based on Powered By Share3D technology.

Other Files

Other files can be uploaded to Share3D On-Premise. This allows centralization of a diverse set of files such as legacy documentation, supporting documents or other information. When a non-S3D file is clicked, they file will either be displayed or downloaded. The specific behavior is determined by how the browser responds to specified files types.

Uploaded Files

All file types can be uploaded as follows:

  • Sign into Share3D On-Premise with editor or admin privileges
  • Click on "Choose File..." to bring up the file section dialog
  • Click on the desired file and then close "Open"
  • Now, click on "Upload" to upload the file to the server

Copy Files to the Server

You are not required to use the upload feature to make files available through the server. If you have access to the file system where the server is hosted, you can simply copy the files onto the server and use standard operating system commands to set up the folders and copy the files. By default, the hosted files originate from the "Files" folder on the server. However, this may be set different on your server.

To delete a file from the server:

  • Sing into Share3D On-Premise with editor or admin privileges
  • Click on the menu button on the file that you would like to delete
  • From the displayed menu, choose "Delete"
