Managing Share3D Files
Share3D allows you to manage the 3D files that are uploaded to your account. Files that are uploaded are only available to your account until you choose to share them or publish them.
Once your file is uploaded to Share3D, it will be displayed from the main file area of your Share3D account. You can access your files by signing into Share3D. Generally, signing in will take you straight to the FIles section of your account. If it does not, you can click on Files in the navigation bar at the top of the Share3D site.
Viewing 3D Files
You can open any of your files on Share3D with out WebGL based viewer. You can do this by clicking on the file's name or thumbnail image.
This will open up a new page and the 3D file will begin to download. Once the file has downloaded, you will be able to interact with the 3D view. On desktop computers you can use the mouse to interact. On mobile devices, you can use touch gestures to interact.
In addition to interacting with the view itself, the user interface includes the following:
- A 3D/2D toggle for switching between 3D and 2D mode
- Next and Previous buttons for navigating through preset illustrations.
- A contents panel for selecting storyboards, illustrations and parts.
Image-Based Display
In some cases, your 3D file will include embedded 2D images. These can be used to immediately view the materials while waiting for the 3D to download. They also serve as a alternative for computers or browser that are not capable of displaying 3D graphics.
If an attempt is made to interact with an image-based version of the display, a notification will let you know that you will need to switch to 3D mode to interact.
