Internal Hyperlinking

Share3D includes an internal hyperlink feature that allows for soft links to be created to files or folders This can be used to create references to other sections of your documentation or to implement a write once, reuse many documentation strategy for commonly reused instructions or reference material.

Create a Hyperlink to a File or Folder

To create a hyperlink to a file:

• Navigate to the desired file or folder that you will link to
• Click on the menu on the file or folder and choose "Copy internal Link".
• Now, navigate to the location where you would like to place the internal hyperlink
• From the bottom menu, click on "Paste" to paste the internal hyperlink into the current folder

Internal Hyperlinks and Versions

An internal link will maintain a link to the exact version of the file that it was originally referencing. This means that if a new version of the source file is uploaded, the internal hyperlink will not change on it's own to link to the latest version of the file.
